We had a pretty unique “meeting” last week. No agenda, just a board game centered around 𝐂𝐒𝐑 (𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲).
At its core, being a responsible business is about making better decisions for the 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 and our 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬. The game forced us to do exactly that – balancing logic with the luck of the draw.
We explored themes of 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐬, 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, and 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 in ways that a standard workshop just cannot match. There were some genuinely eye-opening moments, especially during the sensory challenges where we had to rely on things other than our sight.
It is easy to talk about “saving the environment” or “ethical norms,” but seeing how those things play out in a competitive game makes them feel much more real.
A huge thanks to everyone who played! It was amazing to see such thoughtful (and competitive!) perspectives on CSR.
